INITIALS TO TEXT AND INITIALS TO EMAIL
Having problems remembering everyone's phone number or email address? You can now set up an address book and assign a person's initials to a phone number or email address. Here's how:

  1. You can first test this by making your first call to 916-94-SPEAK (916-947-7325) and say any 2 initials. Within a few minutes you will receive a text message on your own cell phone with your message.
  2. After your first phone call to 916-94-SPEAK, your phone number will be added to the database so that you can log in to your address book. Your default password is the same as your 10 digit cell phone number (e.g. 9165023498). Your trial period is your first 21 messages.
  3. All initials in your address book will be populated with your own phone number. You can modify these entries and enter the phone numbers and email addresses of your friends and family.
  4. After updating your address book, call 916-94-SPEAK.
  5. Wait for the tone.
  6. Say 1 for a text message or 2 for an email. Then say the initials of the person you would like to message (for example, 1JK).
  7. Leave a normal voice message up to 60 seconds.

The message will be converted to text and sent as a text message or email message (whichever you specified) to the person specified by the initials in your address book!
Example: "1JK. Hey John, I'm just trying out this new service using 877-SAY-TYPE to send finger-free text messages." Need more details? You can also call 877-SAY-TYPE for more information about how to use this service.
